Inside Her Love
02/28/2021-03/01/2021
The love never dies.
It can only multiply.
If you say otherwise,
Then, stop the lies.

I hope y'all are ready for March Madness <3

Everywhere But Here
02/13/2021 6:12am
This is one of my favorite songs of all time, by one of the most iconic groups of all-time, Cocaine 80s. From my perspective, this song is about a destructive girl who wants to leave her surroundings because she thinks that her surroundings & her environment are the cause of her troubles. She wants someone to save her badly but she doesn't realize that she is the source of all her problems.
This song represents a dilemma so many of us face on a daily basis. Personally, for awhile, I thought I needed so many things in order to succeed. I used to overthink about every single decision I was going to make. More specifically, within music, I would think I needed to be calculated with every little thing I did, with creation and interpersonally, until I realized that that was immensely holding me back. I thought calculated moves led to the expected results but it took me awhile to see that it is actually the opposite. I focused on specific moves rather than just feeling the moment.

Gratefully, I got myself out of that mentality. I learned to engulf myself within the moment that is "life."

Understand that calculating your life will never give you the desired result. You can't calculate anything other than math.
LIFE IS NOT MATH!

When your teachers said "You will always need to use math.", they meant money, not life. Anyways, I have another point inspired by this song.
PLEASE STOP EXPECTING PEOPLE TO SAVE YOU!

Of course, there will be people in your life that will hold you down because they absolutely love you and want to see you happy. I'm specifically talking about the assumption that your happiness depends on anyone else other than yourself. That couldn't be the farther from the truth. Obviously, someone can make you extremely happy but you don't NEED them. You know what you need??? Your heart.

*This is an ad to make sure that you insert more fiber into your diet. You'll thank yourself for doing so. Now, back to the post.*

Don't allow your happiness to rely on anyone. That'll lead to a tough existence. Trust me, I've been there before. I had to realize that I'm dope to hang out with by myself. Like c'mon, who gets your humor more than you do?

I don't necessarily have a specific closeout for this post. I sucked at writing conclusions in school.
"In conclusion," headass.
Anyways, my main point in writing this post is to say:
FEEL THE MOMENT AND LOVE YOURSELF!

"I said you're beautiful but I see your blinding light is in you, you just don't use it enough."

Two Eleven
02/11/2021 8:05pm
First off, I want to start this post off by wishing the Happiest of Birthdays to Brandy, D'Angelo and Kelly Rowland. Obviously, there's magic in the air for Two Eleven.

This is my first post of Black History Month and this was intentional. Two Eleven is one of my favorite days due to Brandy dropping Two Eleven in Oct 2012, which one of the most life-defining years of my very young life. One day I'll get into why, but not today.

Today, I want to focus on overcoming insecurities. Insecurities are one of the hardest and worst parts about being a human. Feeling insecure, whether in relationships, money or within yourself, simply sucks. No matter how confident you think someone may be, they have their own personal battles with insecurities.

My insecurities have definitely gotten the best of me on some nights. Even earlier this week, I almost retired from making music. This music stuff is hard and can REALLY play with your confidence. Good thing that I'm ICY and I can overcome all that BS but for a few hours? Yeah, it was over.

I let those insecurities really trick me into thinking that everyone else was better than me but then I realized something (again). Those were just thoughts. All I needed to do was slow down and realize the foundation I've built for myself. Like me, the kid who sucked in every band class. He's a published artist with his own record label. I have NEVER let sucking at something stop me from doing it unless I really didn't like it & I absolutely love the challenge of music.

Realizing the journey up-to-date helped me put everything into perspective. I would advise anyone with any insecurity to look over their shoulder and look at how far you've gotten. You had to do a plethora of things to get to where you are. Happy or sad, you can't forget that you put in work to get to wherever you are.

I know someone is reading this and thinking something along the lines of "This is just positive crap!!!!!" Well, it's not my job to convince you that your perspective can really change everything. I'm just a guy who loves music and writing. I just hope you know....

Anyways, I want everyone reading this to know they are truly limitless. Just slow down and you will be absolutely gravy. Life is always better when you take it easy on yourself. That's not to say don't work hard and grow. Just don't beat yourself up so much. You can only grow a plant when you nurture and love it. Plants and humans aren't as different as some people think but that's a topic for another day when I'm deeper in my duffy.

Special shoutout to my lovely plants, Buzz and Earlatto.

*Quick Part 2*
Two Eleven is also the date Kanye West dropped "The Life of Pablo", one of the greatest albums of all-time (willing to debate) live in MSG while simultaneously dropping his YEEZY clothing line's new season. Along with him was Lamar Odom, The Kardashian-Jenners, Travis Scott, Kid Cudi and so many more.

Do you understand how absolutely insane that was at that time? Despite all the craziness surrounding Kanye, that man is an iconic genius. Whether you like him or not, he deserves his flowers for all the stuff he's done for us as human beings.

Like c'mon son.
"Only problem is I'm rich!" is the dopest echoed line in history.
